I love the strategy work as well as assisting clients identify large scale performance improvement opportunities. Working with client staff to solve complex messy problems is a particular pleasure. But the real thrill comes when we get out of conceptual mode, drop down to ground level and go for the planned results. It doesn’t seem to matter how many times I go through the process, the ‘getting on with it’, overcoming obstacles and delivering it all ahead of time is truly satisfying.
Garry has been consulting for 20 years, primarily in FMCG, heavy process, general manufacturing and mining industries. His major assignments have been for American and European companies in South East Asia, Australia, the Middle East,
His area of expertise is with large complex organisations assisting management with strategy focusing, business plan deployment and implementation, and large scale accelerated performance improvement aimed at lifting return on capital. His style emphasises coaching and practical ways of “getting things done.” He is a strong believer in local managers owning the assignment.
Garry holds a PhD in manufacturing strategy, a Master of Engineering Science degree in Industrial Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Food Science & Technology. He is the author of two books, one on manufacturing strategy and one on manufacturing management and several papers, all published internationally.
